Family Summer Festival Brings Joy and Entertainment to Japan Plant

August 22, 2023

Essex Furukawa Magnet Wire co-hosted a successful return of the Family Summer Festival at its Kameyama, Japan location. This highly anticipated event, which had been put on hold for the past four years due to regulatory restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, was celebrated on August 20 and brought together families from Essex Furukawa as well as neighboring Furukawa Electric for an unforgettable evening.

Under the theme of fostering community spirit and celebrating the easing of COVID-19 regulations in the region, the festival featured a wide array of activities and attractions. It also offered something for everyone, featuring entertainment shows as well as traditional Japanese cuisine.

“We believe in the importance of showing our appreciation to employees and have always strived to contribute to the well-being of our community,” Toshiki Demoto, Director of Operations & Sr. Technical Advisor, Essex Furukawa Japan, said. “The Family Summer Festival allowed us to continue our tradition of supporting our neighbors and creating memorable experiences for families.”

The grounds outside the plant were filled with excitement as families participated in games and other celebrations. Essex Furukawa welcomed a stand featuring Tako-yaki, a popular Japanese street food, which was a resounding success.

In addition to the culinary options, various stands and shops from local vendors were set up, offering a diverse range of activities to participate in. Attendees had the opportunity to explore and support these businesses, further strengthening the bond between the company and the local community.

The festival reached its crescendo with a spectacular fireworks display, illuminating the night sky in a kaleidoscope of colors. The finale left attendees in awe, creating lasting memories for all who were present.

“As we witnessed the joy and happiness on the faces of the families who attended the festival, we were reminded of the power of coming together as a community,” Demoto added. “We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm shown by everyone, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to the welfare of our neighbors.”

The Family Summer Festival helped foster a sense of togetherness and provided memorable experiences for families. By successfully re-launching this event, Essex Furukawa demonstrated its ability to adapt to challenging circumstances and create a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
